Thank you for taking the time to visit my site, here you'll discover there is more to me than what lies on the pages of a resume.

Born and raised in Michigan's thumb, I relocated to Wisconsin after graduating from Central Michigan University in 2007 to pursue a journalism career. Since then, I have worked through the ranks of small-town community newspapers from reporter to editor to managing editor. In 2016, I took the leap from small-town journalism to business-to-business publications to become the managing editor of Industrial Maintenance and Plant Operation (IMPO) at Advantage Business Marketing and eventually the managing editor of the Industrial Distribution brand.

In 2019, I had the opportunity to move back to Michigan and with that change also came more exciting opportunities as managing editor of Project Upland and, most recently, Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) magazine.

Now, I utilize the skills I have mastered throughout my career to assist other individuals, brands, and organizations with managing their online and print editorial and production needs.

  • Create and manage editorial and production schedules and calendars.

  • Build relationships with content providers such as freelance-writers, photographers, and in-the-field-experts.

  • Create custom Style Guide for your organization and/or publication so all content is consistent and on-brand for your needs.

  • Content Writing/Editing - Business Profiles, Human-Interest Feature articles, Blog Posts, Essays, and more.

  • Copy Writing/Editing - Press Releases, Product Reviews, and more.

During my career, I have had conversations with people of all ages, ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds. I consider myself lucky to have been able to speak with them, learn from them, and be the one to tell their story.

One of my most memorable encounters was with Lon Michels, a local artist who lost, then regained his eyesight, and continued to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces along the way. Months after interviewing Lon for a routine feature article, I was contacted for the opportunity of a lifetime - to model a floor-length vintage mink fur coat embellished with hand-painted Lon Michels' detail, at the Milwaukee Art Museum. A shy person by nature, this was an eye-opening experience. Since then, I've been lucky enough to participate in three other Lon Michels fashion shows in Madison and Baraboo including the 2016 Frostiball at the Overture Center for the Arts.

In addition to writing, I have also gained a new-found appreciation for nutrition and exercise over the last several years. After years of being overweight, I decided to take matters into my own hands and signup for a local weight-loss challenge - which I walked away from as the female weight-loss champion.

During this challenge I began paying closer attention to ingredient lists at the grocery store, and began to move away from processed foods which led me to digging up my front yard to convert it into a 1,200-square-foot vegetable garden. This venture also led me to research, plan and implement everything from starting plants from seeds to canning endless pounds of tomatoes for use throughout the year.

I am always looking for ways to expand my horizons, and recently I have embarked upon a new challenge - this website. This has allowed me to explore and delve into new passions such as photography, video, marketing, and website design.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about me. If you'd like to see examples of my work, explore this website or checkout the links and resume below.

Sincerely,
Rachelle Blair-Frasier
